Vitalii Yurasov is a Ukrainian photographer and documentary artist who has dedicated half of his life to photography. He was born in 1994 in Simferopol, Crimea, and has lived and worked in Kyiv since 2001.

Before Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, he actively worked with local and international brands (Nike, Off-White, Puma, Samsung, BMW, Citroën, Napapijri, and others), collaborated with well-known artists and athletes, and documented the life of his community. He is the founder of the creative collective and community The Trouble Tribe.

Since 2022, his focus has been the war and the people experiencing it.

His style is gonzo-documentary, where the photographer becomes part of the events. Working alongside fighters from the Main Intelligence Directorate, Armed Forces of Ukraine, Security Service, National Guard, and State Border Guard, Yurasov’s work conveys not only the reality of the front lines but also a deep immersion into military life, emotional engagement, and attention to detail.

Zero points, trenches, prisoner exchanges, covert operations, death, joy, courage, brotherhood — all of this he experiences personally and seeks to capture for history through photography.

Yurasov’s work stands out for its artistic vision, monumentality, and subtle use of composition and color.

Each print is not just an image but a testimony and a piece of art simultaneously.
